Branding Design

Honeydew Landscape design logo
Client – Honey Dew Landscape Design
Challenge – How might the business have a consistent look and feel for customers to remember?
Solution – Create a memorable logo and business branding design style.
Tools – Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
My Role – I created this logo design and implemented the design on business cards, letterhead, and webpage.
Team Member’s Roles – I worked on this project solo other than feedback from others.
Constraints – This project needed to:
– Convey that this was a company that works with plants and the earth.
– Be used on business cards, letterhead, yard signs, the web, and hoody sweatshirts.
– Relate to a personal interest of the client, baseball.
– Be memorable and recognizable.

Website Design

Client – Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community
Challenge – How might the organization provide information internationally to current and new donors, volunteers, government entities, sponsors and other interested parties?
Solution – Create a website that tells the organization’s story.
Tools – WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Text editor, Chrome Developer tools.
My Role – I created custom elements with HTML and CSS. I worked on the information architecture by creating a detailed site map and menu structure. I conducted user testing. I participated in content editing and selecting some of the photos. I collaborated on many of the design details.
Team Member’s Roles – The design and content layout was lead by another team member, along with SEO, analytics, security features and other details handled by WordPress plugins.
Constraints – This project needed to:
– Provide information for donors, volunteers, employes, sponsors, and government officials.
– Be used as a fundraising, recruitment, and explanation tool.
– Work for desktop and mobile devices.
– Help international supporting groups have basic information for fundraising purposes.
– Include 50 pages of content.

Email Design

Challenge – How might the business engage its constituents in a more compelling way?
Solution – Create a set of custom engaging HTML email designs that fit the companies partner organization’s current branding style.
Tools – Adobe Dreamweaver, Text editor, Chrome Developer tools, and Mailchimp Inbox Inspector.
My Role – I created the email design and implemented the design by writing custom HTML and CSS.
Team Member’s Roles – The client provided the text and photo content.
Constraints – This project needed to:
– Work in as many email inbox clients as possible.
– Use the companies current branding style.
– Work on mobile devices without being a responsive design.
– Be easy to update the text and photos to create future emails.

Challenge – How might the organization keep its constituents and supporters informed regularly?
Solution – Create engaging HTML email designs that fit the organization’s branding and style.
Tools – Adobe Dreamweaver, Text editor, Chrome Developer tools, and Mailchimp Inbox Inspector.
My Role – I was the assistant designer, I took the lead of implementing the design by writing custom HTML and CSS.
Team Member’s Roles – I worked with one other designer who lead the design process.
Constraints – This project needed to:
– Use the organization’s branding and style guidelines.
– Work on mobile devices to reach more constituents.
– Be reusable for a verity of different emails.

Challenge – How might the organization explain the organization and all it does in a simple way?
Solution – Create a informational document about the organization.
Tools – Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator
My Role – I organized the information, wrote the text and designed the layout.
Team Member’s Roles – I received feedback on the design and text.
Constraints – This project needed to:
– Be a downloadable pdf on the website for easy printing and sharing.
– Be two pages or less.
– Give a simple overview of the organization.
– Help people understand the organization who know nothing about it.

Website Landing Page Design

Client – Fulshear Ranch Academy
Challenge – How might we expand our contact list of potential clients?
Solution – Create a landing page that provides a free offer that would encourage people to sign up for their email newsletter.
Tools – Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver, Text Editor and Chrome Developer tools.
My Role – I did the layout design. I also implemented the design by writing custom HTML and CSS code.
Team Member’s Roles – I received very specific creative direction from the client and received feedback on the design.
Constraints – This project needed to:
– Match the style of other pages on the organization’s website.
– Be a way to encourage now potential costumers to share their email address.
– Be a place to provide a free download to drive new interest in the organization.
– Remove the website’s other links to focus the user only one the call to action.
